Spring and summer months are just around the corner and with those winter months of holidays and celebrations during Spring Festival, so came the adding of the kilos to the waistline. Now, most females feel that during this period they have to diet.
I for one never believed in diets and furthermore, I don’t believe that being slim equals to being healthy, etc. Being healthy is a lifestyle.
I never did mind a woman with some ‘cushion’ around the hips. Yes, I don’t mind the beautiful but curvy, Christina Hendricks’ types.
Alas, females will be females and in my eternal quest to respect them, I had to learn about this overwhelming, nightmarish and troublesome issue, spring diets. Therefore, here’s what I gathered from some sources or my former-female students about spring and dieting.
So here’s the ‘skinny’, and excuse me, no pun intended.
What most females do is equate slim with beauty, which is the biggest mistake. What a person should understand or reflect upon are the following: you have take into consideration your age, height and body type. Then you have to find out through nutritional charts what’s your average weight and take these factors into consideration. For example, a female 20 years of age will weigh less than one who’s 40, because the latter’s body metabolism is slower; and after 45 menopausal factors will happen.
A woman is naturally 10 to 12 percent fatter than a man, yes, the question is why? By the way, I can already hear all the females’ sighs of frustration, anger and shock as they read! It’s because a young woman’s body is being prepared for when she decides to get pregnant. It’s for protection of the mother and baby. Pure science, my people…
What’s considered a fat person? If a person is over 25 kilograms/m2, and obese if the individual is over 30 kilos/m2. That’s how the chart reflects what’s normal or natural and what’s not!
What most females in China do is use traditional-Chinese medicines against the winter- weight gain. Sticking more to fruits, vegetables and natural-chicken soups; it’s a way for the body to also combat dryness by drinking or the intake of liquids. Those liquids are mostly warm-water and staying away from the carbonated drinks like soda. Some take to herbs, while others take to natural teas and yogurts to help with their bowel movement. For a good majority, it’s to stay away from the gluten or do old-fashion exercises, like run or walk. Contemporarily, girls do their Pilates to tone their bodies without becoming muscular. While others focus on a traditional-Asian system like Yoga, that helps with breathing and resistance. It’s all about having a healthy body and being energetic during the day.
What’s not good or natural? It’s to skip meals like breakfast [the most important meal of the day] or drink too much coffee. This is harmful for the body and nervous system years down the line.
The rewards after the spring diets have worked and those kilos have come off… Well, it’s to become more attractive for self, other females in competition and the opposite sex, of course. Yes, happily many young ladies and women will be able to wear those lovely colors of spring and summer in sleeveless dresses and backless outfits. This is the goal in mind, to become sexier than most. The center of attention!
