The seven-day Spring Festival holiday ended yesterday with a strong cold wave but the festival is just halfway through and won’t end until the Lantern Festival on February 22.
Hangzhou Safari Park attracted crowds with a themed event featuring monkeys to celebrate the Year of the Monkey, while Tangqi Old Town in Yuhang District lured visitors to experience traditional New Year customs.
The Chaoshan Hill Scenic Area, also in Yuhang, is holding the 8th Chaoshan Plum Blossom Festival through early March. Longmen Town in Fuyang District also has some interesting activities, such as a prayer ritual on the Yaolong Bridge.
In Tonglu County, tourists can participate in the pounding of the world’s longest glutinous rice cake and experience other intangible cultural heritages there.
