Hangzhou reported five new H7N9 bird flu cases yesterday, all in serious condition, the Zhejiang Provincial Health Bureau said.
The five patients are two women and three men aged 56 to 72. Two denied having any contact with live birds but the rest said yes.
So far the city has reported 21 H7N9 cases. Two patients died and one has recovered and transferred to an ordinary isolation ward.
The neighboring Jiangsu Province and Shanghai reported nine new cases yesterday, bringing the national total of H7N9 infections to 77.
