The box office for “Qin’s Moon” has exceeded CNY 50 million as of August 13. Impressive fighting plots, exquisite pictures and humorous lines have made the animated film, which was premiered on August 8, a great success for the summer holiday season.
With the support from local governments, the production of the animated film started in 2005 and was first presented in early 2007. After almost ten years’ polishing, its deep history, swordsman culture, amazing Chinese painting cartoon style and exciting stories have established itself as the most influential original Chinese animated brand.
“Qin’s Moon” is an animated film for people of all ages and the number of online watching clicks has exceeded two billion. In addition, the film has been published in 37 countries and regions around the world, and it has won over 100 awards home and abroad, including those from Cannes International Film Festival and Asian Television Awards.
When the 3D “Qin’s Moon I” first hit the big screen in early August, it was widely reported by major media and broadly discussed by people from all walks of life. The audience group has also been enlarged because there are no limits put on the age.
Prof. Nakamura from Ritsumeikan University and his students has just visited Sparkly Key Animation Studio, producer of “Qin’s Moon”. They watched the trailer of the film and acclaimed it for the high-quality production. Shen Leping, director of the film, also shared his experience with the visitors about production, publication and marketing. Shen expected the film to enter Japanese market.
