Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Shanghai have signed agreements with the Ministry of Environmental Protection, promising to cut their PM2.5 reading of air pollutants by 20 percent by the end of 2017.
A task group has been formed to coordinate efforts in the Yangtze Delta region to fight air pollution and improve air quality. The group will also work on new emission control standards and measures.
Cities in the Yangtze Delta region will share air quality data on one platform and introduce a uniform warning system.
