Hangzhou will experience gale-force winds and rainstorms as typhoon Chan-Hom makes its way toward Zhejiang, local meteorologists warned.
The province’s southeast coast will see rainstorms tomorrow morning and Hangzhou will feel the force of Chan-Hom this weekend.
The Shanghai Railway Bureau may suspend all passenger services in coastal areas tomorrow and Saturday and may shut down other railways depending on the typhoon movement. Travelers are reminded to pay attention to notices at railway stations.
Today, typhoon Linfa made landfall in southern Guangdong Province, disrupting train services, closing schools, and keeping thousands of fishing boats in harbors.
The National Commission for Disaster Reduction and the Ministry of Civil Affairs urged local authorities in affected cities and provinces to assign personnel to monitor the typhoons 24 hours a day and issue timely warning to the public of impending danger.
