The rain that began yesterday afternoon will last until Thursday, local forecasters said. Heavy rain and thunderstorm are expected today in some parts of Hangzhou and maximum temperature is around 24 degrees Celsius.
Tomorrow will turn from overcast to showers and the temperature will be slightly cooler. Wednesday is going to see mixed weather, changing from cloudy to overcast and thunderstorms.
The temperature will slowly climb to 27 degrees on Thursday and to 33 degrees on Saturday and the weather will stay cloudy from Friday to Sunday.
The Hangzhou Meteorological Bureau said this year’s rainy season, also called “plum rain,” started yesterday and is expected to last two to three weeks.
The National Meteorological Bureau issued a yellow rainstorm alert yesterday as another round of heavy downpours will hit Guizhou, Hubei, Hunan, Anhui, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, and Zhejiang provinces and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
