The maximum temperature in Hangzhou reached 36.4 degrees Celsius yesterday afternoon, the hottest day so far this year, local forecasters said today.
A thunder storm occurred in areas south of the West Lake around 3pm yesterday but districts north of the lake had rains. The maximum rainfall was in Zhuantang where more than 30 millimeters of rain was recorded.
The weather pattern will remain unchanged throughout the week with showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon. The maximum temperature will drop slowly to 32 degrees on Friday but the low will stay at around 26 degrees.
